Valdez replaces Joey Canoy, on a ten-fight unbeaten streak, who was dealing with visa issues days before fight night. 

A Pan American Games gold medalist, Collazo (14-0) won the WBO title in 2023. He won the WBA and Ring belts in 2024 and has four straight victories via knockout.

Valdez (15-3-3) is 1-1-1 in his last three fights, already going 1-0-1 in 2026. It's the first fight in the U.S. for the 25-year-old with twelve wins via knockout.
