A championship matchup between the Louisville Kings and DC Defenders will bring the 2026 UFL season to a conclusion this weekend.

The Kings are playing out somewhat of a Cinderella story in their debut season as an expansion team with the UFL. Despite a rough start, the Louisville franchise went on a winning streak to reverse its fate. The Kings were able to upset the Battlehawks 29-20 in the semifinals in order to secure a spot in the United Bowl.

On the other hand, the Defenders are heading back to the title game for the second year in a row, defying all odds with a 5-5 record. DC was able to pull off an upset of the league's top-seeded team, defeating Orlando 28-22 last weekend. Now, the Defenders will have a shot at back-to-back United Bowl titles, this time playing on their home field.
