Love Island USA features a cast member in Season 8, Aniya Harvey, with an impressive athletic background.

She's also got great sports genes -- her father, Donnell, played in the NBA.

Aniya teased this exact fact on the show, letting everyone know, "My dad, he used to play in the NBA."

Who is Aniya Harvey's dad?

Aniya Harvey's dad is Donnell Harvey, a former 6-foot-8 NBA player.

Donnell is originally from the state of Georgia, and he played collegiately at the University of Florida.

From there, he was the No. 22 overall pick (first round) by the New York Knicks in the 2000 NBA Draft -- although he was immediately traded to the Dallas Mavericks.

Donnell went on to play in parts of five NBA seasons and suit up for five different teams: the Mavs, Nuggets, Magic, Suns and Nets.

For his career, he averaged 5.6 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.

His best season was 2001-02 with the Denver Nuggets -- he put up 8.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.7 blocks and 0.6 steals per game.

Did Aniya Harvey play sports?

Aniya, who is 6-feet tall, was a college volleyball player.

She went to Florida Atlantic University, a Division I school.

Aniya was a middle blocker. Her career-best match came against Old Dominion on Sept. 25, 2021 -- she had 10 killcs and 6 blocks.

She also was a solid server, with a career-high 4 aces in a match against FIU in 2021.
