Michael Olise and the French federation weren't happy with the yellow card he was given in the World Cup Round of 16 against Paraguay.
He didn't appear to make any contact to his opponent's face, but Matias Galarza went down holding his head anyway, and that was enough for the referee to book France's talented winger Olise. France appealed to FIFA, but the appeal was denied.
That booking puts Olise in jeopardy.
France will play Morocco on Thursday in the World Cup quarterfinal round, and Olise is "on a yellow card," as they say.
Another one and Olise earns a one-match suspension.

What happens if Michael Olise gets a yellow card?
If Olise gets a yellow card against Morocco, he will be suspended if France advances to the World Cup semifinal.
He would have earned two yellow cards since the Round of 32 (in this case, Round of 16 and quarterfinal), which activates FIFA's yellow card suspension rules.
Yellow cards from the group stage reset when the knockout stage began, but then the accumulation begins again.

They would reset again for the semifinal, so that a player can't miss the final due to yellow card accumulation.
But entering the quarterfinal, yellow cards are still active from the knockout rounds.
FIFA has a yellow card suspension rule in place in the interests of reasonable, fair play, but it can be a bit stringent -- especially in Olise's case, where the first yellow felt especially harsh.
He's going to have to be quite careful against Morocco.
