Olivia Miles is starting the WNBA All-Star Game as a rookie. That's how good she is.
She's doing it with her own distinct look, too. Miles wears goggles while she plays, which was true in college at Notre Dame and TCU and is still true with the Minnesota Lynx.
Coupled with a poofy head of hair, Miles is her own person out there on the floor, and it works wonderfully.
Entering the All-Star Break as a rookie, Miles is averaging 19.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game.
She was the No. 2 overall pick behind Azzi Fudd, but she already looks like she's got a great chance to be the best player from this draft class.
Why does Olivia Miles wear goggles?
Miles wears goggles for exactly the reason you think: to help her vision.
She wears glasses off the court, but she doesn't want to wear regular glasses during games, so she wears the goggles that won't get damaged or knocked off her head.
The alternative would be contact lenses, but Miles opts for the prescription goggles on her face.
The reality at this point, too, is that it very much works for Miles. Why would she change now?
Look good, feel good, play good -- and Miles' goggles check those boxes for her.
