It's not news that the Minnesota Vikings are looking at a potential quarterback competition between Kyler Murray and J.J. McCarthy.
It's pretty funny, though, that the world's top golfer, Scottie Scheffler, is being asked about it.
No, Scheffler doesn't have any obvious connection to Minnesota.
But on Wednesday, he played in a pro-am with Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell. A reporter wanted to know how that went.
"He said, 'Yeah we got a couple quarterbacks, so there will be some competition and stuff like that,'" Scheffler relayed to reporters.

Yeah, it's definitely not a reporting approach you see every day.
It also seems like Scottie wouldn't give something crazy away even if it had been said to him.
The Vikings will still have plenty of work to do to figure this out. McCarthy is entering his third season, but only his second healthy one. Murray signed in free agency after the Arizona Cardinals cut him loose.

On paper, Murray has the much more impressive NFL resume, and probably the more overall talent, too.
McCarthy is the younger player and the one who the Vikings invested heavy draft capital into.
Scheffler may not know the answer, but that's because the Vikings probably don't know the answer yet, either.
