“I remember actually messing it up a bunch of times – I was actually holding us up, but we got it in the end.”
But one moment that has followed him throughout career is his rap from We’re The Millers.

Will, who played Kenny, blew us all away with his flawless rendition of Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes’ verse from TLC’s ’90s hit “Waterfall”.

The role won him an MTV Movie Award for Breakthrough performance, as well was BAFTA’s EE Rising Star Award, launching his spot in the landscape Hollywood.
Well, Will has opened up about the famous scene, and now we have the details, we’re even more impressed.
Speaking to BuzzFeed UK, Will revealed that the rap wasn’t actually part of the original script; it was something Jason Sudeikis added in a weekend before.” We shot it on the Monday and I can kind of remember learning the rap over the weekend,” he told us.

And though you’d never tell from the movie, the scene was far from a one-take wonder, “I remember actually messing it up a bunch of times – I was actually holding us up by messing it up, but we got it in the end,” Will revealed.

It’s not an easy rap, especially for an actor broaching their first starring movie role, but Will proved that he's a true ~professional~
But it was all worth it in the end! Will’s rap is one of the most memorable scenes in the movie, and remains the soundtrack to his career, “I do get asked whether I know the lyrics to that quite a lot; sometimes I’ll be in a restaurant and people will play it,” Will joked.
If you want to hear more from Will, he voices Shepard in Death of Unicorn – which is in cinemas now – and you can catch our full chat with him below!
