Wyndham Clark's girlfriend Emily Tanner has hilarious response to long tournament days

Wyndham Clark's girlfriend, Emily Tanner, recently shared a funny insight into being a golf WAG.

WAGs (wives and girlfriends of sports stars) partnerships look different than most couples, as they are often seen supporting their husbands and boyfriends at games, matches, and tournaments, cheering them on. Tanner was front and center to support Clark when he won the 2026 U.S. Open last month, and on Wednesday, July 22, she went on Instagram Story to answer some questions about being at the PGA Tour with him.

"What’s the best thing about being [Wyndham Clark’s] girl on tour? Any pinch me moments?” a fan asked Tanner, per Us Weekly.

“One thing I didn’t know is that I too would get sock tan lines,” she hilariously wrote back to the fan, showing off her tan lines.

Tanner then shared a deeper response to the question, writing, “But on a real note, it’s just the best feeling to be there for him, cheering him on doing what he loves.”

Clark won his second U.S. Open championship after narrowly holding off Sam Burns for the victory. He previously won the prestigious championship in 2023.

Clark has been open about how important Tanner is to him throughout his career and in their relationship. He spoke to Us Weekly last month and shared how much he makes her happy.

“She’s a huge part of my success,” he said. “We joke and call her my at-home caddie because she helps me with everything off the course. She just makes me so happy. We have so much fun together. When I’m away from golf, I’m able to decompress and not think about it because we truly just enjoy each other’s time. She’s amazing. She makes everything stress-free for me. She’s my biggest supporter, and she’s always out there watching me.”

Clark added, “I’m just happy and satisfied where I am off the course. I’m in love.”

The couple met in January 2026 through a mutual friend and went public with their relationship in April. Tanner is a model, and the golf champion shared that she was his celebrity crush.

“I was with a buddy of mine, and one of his friends was there, and he was like, ‘Hey, man, I got this girl that is a good friend of mine, and she’s recently single, and she’s accomplished,’” he said. “He said all of these nice things. I go, ‘Oh, cool, can I see a picture of her?’ He shows me Emily, and I go, ‘No way, I’ve had a crush on her forever.’”

Tanner has attended The Players Championship, The Masters, The CJ Cup, Byron Nelson, and most recently the U.S. Open in support of Clark. The next tournament Clark is scheduled to compete in is the Rocket Classic. The tournament will be from July 30 to August 2 at the Detroit Golf Club in Detroit, Michigan.
