Cam Schlittler isn't slowing down.

The New York Yankees' right-handed pitcher, in his first full season in MLB, continues to be a clear shooting star. He continues to prove that he's one of the top young arms in baseball.

That remained true on Friday night against the Cincinnati Reds, when he struck out 13 hitters.

Just as notable, Schlittler didn't walk a single guy.

In the process, he became the youngest starter in Yankees history (25 years, 134 days) to strike out at least 13 hitters in a game without walking a single batter, according to MLB Network's Sarah Langs.

Even more incredibly: Schlittler had 13 strikeouts through his first 16 outs recorded in the game. Almost every Cincinnati hitter he was getting out came via the K.

Schlittler is one of the reasons that the Yankees will be less likely to need a starting pitcher at the trade deadline than they may have been.

Yes, Max Fried is hurt, but the rest of the Yanks are staying pretty healthy on the mound, knock on wood. Schlittler is helping lead the charge.

New York has Gerrit Cole back after he missed all of the 2025 season, but it's Schlittler who keeps stealing the show.

The youngster raises the Yankees' entire upside for the postseason. A guy who can carve up a solid lineup like this is a potential trump card in a close series.

All the caveats about a young pitcher and health apply, but no one wants to think about that. Schlittler is special, and he keeps donning the pinstripes and proving it.
