While selling is never a good sign, the Giants should be able to bring back some very strong prospect returns this summer. They have very appealing trade targets, one of which is second baseman Luis Arraez.

Matt Chapman, Rafael Devers, Jung Hoo Lee, and Willy Adames might be trade options as well, but the odds of a deal are slim. Arraez, on the contrary, according to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, is a "near-lock" to be traded by the Giants this summer.

Trading away players at the deadline is all but guaranteed for the Giants this summer. The only question is how far they go as sellers.

One of the first moves this team should be looking to make is an Arraez trade. He's a free agent after the 2026 season, and the Giants don't have the means to sign him to a contract extension.

Considering how good he's playing this season, with much-improved defense at second base, an .805 OPS, and a .320 batting average with a ridiculous 25-to-18 walk to strikeout ratio, there will be a ton of interest in him this summer.

Teams like the Tampa Bay Rays, Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, and maybe even the Los Angeles Dodgers could come calling for the former three-time batting title champion.

Arraez earned his fourth All-Star nod this season, and the 29-year-old second baseman might be one of the most appealing targets at this year's deadline.

That, combined with his rental status and the Giants being willing to trade him, makes Arraez a "near-lock" to be traded by the August 3 MLB trade deadline.

It would be a shocker if Arraez isn't on a new team by August 3. Giants fans should expect to see Arraez on the move this summer, as the lefty-hitting infielder might be one of the most obvious trade candidates in recent MLB history.
