Man United vs. Rosenborg final score, result, highlights: Red Devils run riot in preseason friendly

Manchester United enjoyed a hugely positive visit to Norway for preseason as they claimed victory over Rosenborg.

Michael Carrick's team were surprisingly beaten 1-0 by Wrexham in their first friendly of the summer, which took place the day before the 2026 World Cup final.

United are still not at full strength given many of their World Cup stars are now on a post-tournament break, but their performance on Friday was nonetheless very encouraging as a mixture of first-team regulars, new signings and youngsters put on a show at Lerkendal Stadion.

Man United vs. Rosenborg final score

United were emphatic 5-0 winners against Rosenborg, with four of the goals coming in the second half.

Shea Lacey put them ahead in the first half following a good throughball from Joshua Zirkzee, who doubled United's lead with a fabulous piece of close-range control that left defenders and the goalkeeper on the ground.

Youngsters Jacob Devaney, Harry Amass and Ethan Williams also got on the scoresheet to cap a fine day's work for Carrick and his players, who will next face Atletico Madrid on August 1 as their preparations for the season ramp up.

New signing Andrey Santos again looked sharp in the first half, but Carrick will perhaps be most pleased with the way the youngsters acquitted themselves against a team in the middle of the Norwegian domestic season and therefore at full match fitness.
