Klay Thompson has remained silent since his split from Megan Thee Stallion, but one public figure is speaking in his defense. Reality television personality Jason Lee questioned the criticism directed at the Dallas Mavericks guard while discussing the breakup on a recent podcast.
Jason Lee questions criticism surrounding Klay Thompson
Jason Lee defended Klay Thompson during Tuesday's episode of the "Truth After Dark" podcast, which featured former Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce and co-host Azar Farideh. The discussion turned to Thompson's breakup with Megan Thee Stallion and the allegations that followed.
The relationship began in July 2025 before ending in April. After the split, Megan suggested her expectations of "trust, fidelity and respect" had not been met, leading to speculation about Thompson's conduct. The Mavericks guard has not publicly addressed those claims.
Lee argued that Thompson's reputation should also be considered before drawing conclusions. "Klay Thompson has never been in a scandal, ever!" he said. He added that although he had seen Thompson in social settings, "it was a respectful hangout."
Jason Lee doubled down and absolved Klay Thompson off his wrong doings by saying:
“Klay Thompson has never being in a scandal, ever! I have seen him in the club, he has had girls around and he has been respectful. So why is he being scandalized when we don’t know the… https://t.co/QuVkgYla2y pic.twitter.com/4gRvYtECN8
The media personality also questioned why Thompson had become the focus of criticism without additional details becoming public. "So why are we scandalizing him when we don't know the situation?" Lee said while discussing the public reaction surrounding the breakup.
Lee expanded on that point by comparing Thompson with Megan's previous relationships. He suggested the pattern deserved more scrutiny, saying, "Every guy you date is the bad guy?" before adding, "I am the common denominator in all of that," referring to his view of the situation.
The comments offered a different perspective from much of the discussion surrounding the breakup in recent months. Before their relationship ended, Megan publicly praised Thompson during the inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York, calling the four-time NBA champion "the nicest person" she had ever met.
Neither Thompson nor Megan has publicly responded to Lee's remarks, leaving the former couple's split largely outside the public record beyond the statements already made.
