Lamine Yamal is turning heads with his diamond-encrusted chain ahead of Spain's match against Austria.
Spain has secured its place in the World Cup Round of 32, where it will face Austria on Thursday, July 2. The spotlight is already on Yamal as he is the youngest to start a World Cup match at the age of 18. However, before Yamal was able to make his mark on the field during the match, the teenager had already started some conversations with his chain.
Yamal arrived at SoFi Stadium (Los Angeles Stadium) in Inglewood, California, in his red and blue tracksuit, rocking a Batman chain. The pendant had the face of the DC flagship superhero wearing his mask, and behind it showed the New York City skyline in gold with ominous clouds. The pendant was placed in a silver frame with the gold chain making a mixed metal showstopper. In addition to the diamond chain, Yamal also wore a black baseball cap, and black-framed glasses.

Yamal and Cubarsi are the first pair of teenagers to start a World Cup match since Brazilian-born footballers Pelé and José Altafini in the 1958 World Cup.
Spain has had a very successful World Cup ride so far after finishing with one draw and winning two matches. The first match was a tie with Cape Verde, where both teams failed to score on one another, resulting in a 0-0 finish. Their second match was against Saudi Arabia, where they defeated the Middle Eastern team 4-0. That match is also where Yamal netted his first career tournament goal. Spain's third match was against Uruguay, where they won 1-0.
As for Austria, they only had one loss so far when they were defeated 2-0 by Argentina. They did win against Jordan 3-1, drew 3-3 with Algeria.
Spain vs. Austria began at 3 p.m. ET. At the time of this article, Spain leads 1-0 in the knockout round.
