As time is winding down for what would be the largest wedding of the year at Madison Square Garden between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, there might be a very simple methodology to all of the madness.
For weeks, Kelce and Swift have been rumored to be getting married at the iconic New York City venue, but the reason behind why the couple would choose the venue goes beyond access. It is believed that the pop star and three-time Super Bowl champion chose MSG for the "space, privacy, and security," according to TMZ.
With them expected to have several A-listers attend their wedding, Madison Square Garden provides the privacy that Swift and Kelce require. Given that there are no windows in The Garden, the couple would not have to worry about paparazzi snapping photos. Additionally, with the underground parking feature the venue provides, the celebrities can come and go as they please without being detected.
While they will try to go unnoticed as possible, the couple is making sure that they and their guests are protected. According to TMZ, sources tell the outlet that over 70 detectives, 50 police officers, and some higher-ups have been assigned to MSG for the rehearsal on Thursday, July 2, as well as Friday for the big day. The detectives will be working 8.5-hour shifts at $80 to $90 an hour; police officers will be working 9-hour shifts for $70 an hour, with the outlet noting that they are mostly rookies. The number of higher-ups has not been disclosed, but it's estimated that it will total at least a $160,000 price tag for the superstar couple.
Clues are pointing to Swift and Kelce saying "I do" in New York City ahead of the holiday weekend, but it has not yet been confirmed by the superstar pair.
