LeBron James predicted to make Warriors decision that seems to make too much sense

Some indications seem to point to LeBron James joining the Golden State Warriors at some point.

Until it happens, there is certainly no guarantee that James will end up in Golden State, but it would seem to make sense for both sides. The Warriors are in a position to try to win just one or two more times, and adding James to the roster would help them with that.

Even at 41 years old, he's still a decent piece to a contending team.

There's not much more the Warriors can do than go out and add James. If they don't add a player of his caliber, we're likely to see a team similar to the one we've had over the past few seasons, and that hasn't been a squad good enough to win in the playoffs or when it matters most.

That's part of the reason why one writer recently predicted that he'd end up in Golden State, suggesting that the franchise just doesn't really have many other options to pursue on the free agency market.

“The Warriors have backed themselves into a corner, with few long-term plans after the Stephen Curry era as the front office and ownership put all of their proverbial eggs into the basket for contention.

“This summer is the franchise’s best chance and perhaps its last to add an impact player who could potentially improve Golden State’s title hopes. LeBron James has seemed to be open to playing with Curry in the past, and playing for the Warriors could allow for his family to spend the majority of their time at home in Los Angeles. This just feels like a situation where the timing and opportunity are right for both sides, culminating in James taking a one-year deal to play for the Warriors,” Matt Johnson wrote.

The problem for the Warriors here is that while they likely want to get younger in some sense, having Stephen Curry and Draymond Green still being their two best players, as well as Jimmy Butler when and if he's even on the team after this injury, there's just no realistic path to them doing so.
