The New York Knicks are NBA champions.
It's still a pretty remarkable phrase, but it's true for the first time in 53 years.
Teams can't celebrate for too long, though, because there's always a next season to get ready for.
The Knicks' next chance to get better for the 2026-27 campaign, in the hopes of repeating, arrives Tuesday when the 2026 NBA Draft gets underway.
New York has an established core of veterans, but in a talented draft class, the Knicks could find someone intriguing to add to the rotation in the draft, too.
Below, we'll be keeping track of what the Knicks get up to on the two nights of the draft.

These are how Sporting News grades each of the Knicks' draft picks:
- Round 1, Pick 25: Sergio De Larrea - traded
- The Knicks didn't keep De Larrea. They moved him and picked up three second-round picks, and so they don't actually get a first-round player.
- Round 2, Pick 39: Jack Kayil - B
- He was committed to Gonzaga but ended up playing well in the German Bundesliga and came into the draft. He could be really good after developing more.
- Round 2, Pick 47: Tyler Nickel - B+
- Nothing is a given this late, but Nickel shoots 40% from 3-point range. If he defends a bit, he'll be able to earn minutes in the NBA.
- Round 2, Pick 53: Ugonna Onyenso - B-
- He ranked second in the country in blocks per game despite coming off the bench. That skill gives him a chance.
