One team that had some momentum coming into the 2026 season was the Baltimore Orioles. They had a new manager and made some moves during the winter that looked good on paper.

However, they haven't been all that consistent this season. Currently, they sit in fourth place in the always tough American League East, 11.5 games behind the division-leading Tampa Bay Rays.

As you can see, they have a ton of work to do. Catching up to the Rays may be out of the question, but they are only 2.5 games from the final AL wild card spot.

Baltimore is coming off a week where they had to be at their best. They took on the Boston Red Sox, who have been red-hot as of late, and then took on the Atlanta Braves, one of MLB's best, over the weekend.

In both series, the O's could only muster one win, losing the series 1-2, which has dropped them under .500 at 51-55. With this, Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter drops them multiple spots, from No. 15 to No. 22 in his latest power rankings.

"A season-high, seven-game winning streak briefly vaulted the Orioles into the upper half of these rankings, but they promptly crashed back to earth last week with a pair of series losses. Teams hoping to make a run at trading for Trevor Rogers or Taylor Ward will be rooting for a few more losses in the coming days."

As Reuter mentions, a few more losses could open up an opportunity elsewhere at the trade deadline for some players. Teams are calling in on Trevor Rogers and Taylor Ward, who could do well for a contender.

The Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves have been asking around on outfielders, while the Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees could be a great fit for Rogers.
