The Philadelphia Phillies are in need of starting pitching help at the 2026 MLB trade deadline. Andrew Painter and Aaron Nola's struggles, along with the other options they've presented for the No. 5 starter spot, have not been promising.

As good as Cristopher Sanchez, Zack Wheeler, and Jesus Luzardo have been, this team really needs to find a way to upgrade its rotation. There are plenty of good starters available, so the Phillies will have a lot of options.

Amid this large pool of trade targets, USA Today's Bob Nightengale is reporting that the Phillies will be in on "everyone," from Tarik Skubal to lower-tier options; the Phillies will seemingly have interest in just about every pitcher this summer.

"They could use another starter, too, and will be in on everyone from Skubal to Robbie Ray to Clay Holmes," Nightengale writes.

There are plenty of good starting pitching trade targets available this summer, with Skubal being the top one by a wide margin.

He's a one-year rental, but as a back-to-back Cy Young winner, any team would love to add him. The Phillies probably won't land him due to the massive price tag, but it wouldn't be a surprise to hear them as an interested suitor.

Robbie Ray of the San Francisco Giants would be a nice option as well, but a cheaper option on the same team who could make sense is Tyler Mahle.

Even the New York Mets, despite being an NL East rival, could be a trade suitor with Freddy Peralta and Clay Holmes. Foster Griffin of the Washington Nationals could make sense as well as an NL East trade target.

Kevin Gausman, Casey Mize, Joe Ryan, Michael Wacha, Seth Lugo, Reid Detmers, Jose Soriano, Shane Bieber, and Brady Singer could all be potential trade options for the Phillies.

There's plenty of other starters the Phillies could end up pursuing in a trade this summer, as they're reportedly in on "everyone" who could be traded, and that's a starting pitcher.

Phillies fans should expect Dave Dombrowski to add to the rotation this summer, with the only question being what kind of starter they get. Is it a Skubal-tier starter, or someone of a lesser group? Seemingly, anything is on the table for the Phillies right now.
