Alvin Kamara is very likely going to play his entire career with the New Orleans Saints. Earlier this week, Kamara and the team agreed on a reworked deal that will keep him in New Orleans.
The Saints signed Travis Etienne in free agency, a move that is sure to change Kamara's role with the team, but he clearly still wants to play for the team that drafted him, where he is the franchise's all-time leading rusher.
Despite the Denver Broncos re-signing J.K. Dobbins this offseason and using a fourth-round pick to select Jonah Coleman, the idea of the Saints trading Kamara to the Broncos to reunite him with Sean Payton is constantly brought up. With the current state of each team's running back rooms, it makes sense for Kamara to stay in New Orleans, and it doesn't make much sense for him to come to Denver, even with the Payton connection.
This new deal with the Saints should end those talks for good.

Kamara has been as good as any running back in the league during his career, rushing for 7,250 yards and 61 touchdowns across his nine NFL seasons. He's been one of the best receiving running backs in the league during that time as well, catching 606 passes for 4,948 yards and 25 more touchdowns.
However, he is coming off what were clearly the lowest numbers of his career as he rushed for just 471 yards, averaging only 3.6 yards per carry in 2025. This could suggest that he is beginning to slow down and that is no doubt one of the primary reasons the team went out and got Etienne in free agency.

Kamara still has a big name and the thought of acquiring him can cause a stir on social media and excitement within the fanbase, but the Broncos won't have any interest in making that move at this point and it's likely that they never really did.
