The World Cup has officially entered its fashion era.
Just before the knockout rounds kicked off, Rita Faez brought soccer-core to the streets of Paris in a sporty red-and-green matching set that scored big with her followers.
She posted the look to Instagram on June 27, pairing a cropped red jersey top with a matching green mini skirt, both trimmed in white athletic stripes. A bright red folding fan finished the fit.
The next day, she shared another batch of photos from the outing, including a close-up selfie that showed off her natural curls and another snapped beneath one of the city's iconic Metro signs. It didn't take long for the post to rack up thousands of likes and a comment section stacked with flames, roses and heart-eyes.
Whether Faez was repping a specific team or just the color palette is anyone’s guess. Red and green could have nodded to Portugal, though Spain has since ruined that plotline with a 1-0 knockout win. Morocco, meanwhile, is still carrying those colors into the quarterfinals after a 3-0 win over Canada. Either way, Faez picked a good week for red and green.
And she’s hardly the only one leaning into soccer fashion. ELLE reported that Pinterest searches for “World Cup jerseys” jumped 840 percent, while Teen Vogue noted the rise of reworked jerseys, streetwear collabs and fan gear doubling as everyday outfits.
Celebrities have been getting in on the trend, too. Joey King turned up to one match in a jersey and mini skirt, Paris Hilton wore a Team USA minidress, and Rihanna went full head-to-toe sportswear. Even World Cup WAG style is booming, with searches for the "Georgina Rodríguez aesthetic" climbing 225 percent.
Before Paris, her feed ran through Saint-Tropez, Mykonos and Santorini, where beach days, café stops and golden-hour photo dumps have become the backdrop to her latest posts. One viral clip even had her dubbed "most beautiful” on Instagram.
