Sonia Citron is enjoying a breakout second WNBA season, and the Washington Mystics guard brought that same confidence to the Orange Carpet. Citron arrived at the WNBA’s annual All-Star event in Chicago wearing a striking all-black ensemble that balanced sophistication with an undeniable cool factor. She completed the look with dark sunglasses, posing confidently for photographers before the league’s biggest stars turned their attention back to basketball.

Citron looked entirely comfortable in the spotlight. That should not be surprising considering how quickly she has established herself as one of the WNBA’s rising stars.

Citron enters All-Star break on impressive run

Citron entered the break averaging 17.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game for Washington. The former Notre Dame star was especially productive immediately before the break. She recorded 20 points, eight assists, four rebounds and one steal in the Mystics’ thrilling 100-99 victory over the Las Vegas Aces on Wednesday.

That performance helped Washington improve to 14-12 and enter the break on a two-game winning streak. The Mystics sit fourth in the Eastern Conference, only 2.5 games behind the first-place Indiana Fever. Citron has averaged 16.4 points, six assists and 1.3 steals over her past three appearances. She also shot 50 percent from the field during that stretch, helping Washington generate some momentum heading into the second half of the season.

The No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft has quickly progressed from promising rookie to one of the most important players on Washington’s roster. Citron’s immediate priority will be helping the Mystics continue climbing the Eastern Conference standings. Before the regular season resumes, however, she made sure to produce one more highlight.
