No. 5 North Carolina and Oklahoma punched their tickets to the College World Series finals with statement wins on Wednesday, each closing out their bracket with double-digit run totals.
The Tar Heels routed West Virginia 12-7, riding four hits and two RBIs from Owen Hull along with four RBIs from Gavin Gallaher, while Oklahoma eliminated No. 3 Georgia 11-4 behind a five-RBI night from Dasan Harris and a four-hit, three-RBI showing from Trey Gambill.
This is unfamiliar territory for North Carolina, which hasn't reached the championship series since losing in the finals in 2006 and 2007. Oklahoma, meanwhile, is chasing its first title since 1994 after falling short as the runner-up in 2022.
