Why France is wearing light green jerseys for World Cup quarterfinal vs. Morocco

France is looking minty fresh for their World Cup quarterfinal matchup with Morocco.

Well, at least their uniforms are. They're a distinct light green color on Thursday in Boston.

It's a far cry from France's traditional look of navy blue tops with white colors.

But as they try to return to the World Cup semifinal, France will be doing it with a green hue.

Why is France wearing light green jerseys against Morocco?

France is wearing what would be considered its "away kit," one that provides the most contrast with what Morocco is wearing.

The Moroccans will be wearing their traditional red tops with green shorts.

It's likely that the very light, pale French jerseys provide a better opposition visually to the Morocco fit.

There are also probably some decent vibes surrounding these uniforms for France in these surroundings.

The French team already played in Boston once in this World Cup, to close out the group stage against Norway. That's the first time they wore this look at the 2026 World Cup, and that day, they won 4-1 as Ousmane Dembele got a hat trick.

Maybe there's a bit of magic in this mint green look for France.
