Yaxel Lendeborg's Summer League MVP gives the Warriors a glimpse of what he can bring

Golden State Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg is already winning with the team after only getting drafted in June. He just led the Warriors to the NBA Summer League championship, and he won the MVP award.

In the final game, they beat the Memphis Grizzlies on the back of a magnificent Yaxel performance. He had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, while out-duelling third overall pick Cameron Boozer.

Yaxel Lendeborg gives Warriors fans a reason to be excited

It was a close game in the Summer League Finals, but the Warriors managed to get the 94-90 win. Lendeborg played a monumental role, as he was hitting big shots and he was hustling for the ball.

The latter is what Warriors fans should expect from him because he is one of the most physically ready players from the 2026 NBA Draft class. Of course, he is one of the older players, as he is 23, but that only means he is ready to play a big role for the Warriors.

Since he is an experienced player with a winning pedigree, he fits right in with what the Warriors have going. They want to maximize Stephen Curry's championship window, so getting NBA-ready players from the NBA Draft is huge.

Now, Yaxel is looking forward to making an impact for the Warriors. In fact, he already knows what kind of impact he will make when the regular season rolls around.

"Every game I played, I have something to prove to myself, to those who are doubting me, and to those who believe in me... I will bring a lot of energy, and I will be the most energetic player on the floor every night," Yaxel said after winning the Summer League championship and MVP.

"I will try to bring as much positive vibes as possible. For the Warriors, what a great way to start."

Lendeborg has landed with the right team, and it is up to head coach Steve Kerr to find the role for him. It might be a tough go-around at first, but they should find a way to integrate a player like Yaxel into the system.
