Jim Jarvis had a moment he'll never forget on Thursday.

Playing for the Atlanta Braves in Pittsburgh, the lefty-hitting Jarvis turned on a pitch and launched it into the PNC Park seats. It was his first MLB home run.

Jarvis might not be a familiar name to Braves fans, but now he's in the majors and leaving the yard.

Who is Jim Jarvis?

Jim Jarvis is a 25-year old infielder originally from San Diego, California.

He played college baseball at Alabama for the Crimson Tide.

The Detroit Tigers drafted Jarvis in the 11th round of the 2023 MLB Draft.

He was traded from the Tigers to the Braves at the 2025 trade deadline for reliever Rafael Montero.

Jarvis entered Thursday 4-for-19 in MLB, but the homer could get him rolling.

Sports are definitely a big deal in the Jarvis household.

His dad Chip was a football player at the University of San Diego.

One of his brothers, Luke, played in college at Auburn and was drafted by the Marlins.

His other brother, Mike went to San Diego State and is now in the Pirates' system, currently playing at Triple-A Indianapolis as he seeks his MLB debut.
